16. Small Companies Exert Stronger
Witness Than Lone Ranger Christians Exodus 18:17-24 “And
Moses' father in law said unto him, The thing that thou doest is not good. Thou wilt surely wear away, both thou,
and this people that is with thee: for this thing is too heavy for thee; thou art not able to perform it thyself alone.
Hearken now unto my voice, I will give thee counsel, and God shall be with thee: Be thou for the people to God-ward, that
thou mayest bring the causes unto God: And thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and shalt show them the way wherein
they must walk, and the work that they must do. Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as
fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds,
rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens: And let them judge the people at all seasons: and it shall be, that every great
matter they shall bring unto thee, but every small matter they shall judge: so shall it be easier for thyself, and they shall
bear the burden with thee. If thou shalt do this thing, and God command thee so, then thou shalt be able to endure,
and all this people shall also go to their place in peace. So Moses hearkened to the voice of his father in law, and
did all that he had said.” Proverbs 15:22 “Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude
of counsellors they are established.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 “Two are better than one; because they have a
good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he
falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be
warm alone? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”
Ephesians 4:7-16 “But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Wherefore
he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. (Now that he ascended, what is it
but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended up far
above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists;
and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body
of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the
measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about
with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking
the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined
together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part,
maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.”
